Today's Mighty Oak

Quick update for everyone, and hopefully I’ll be back again later today, here’s what I’ve found this time:

First up, the NSFW trailer for the new movie Ted:

And speaking of NSFW, check out the first episode of Savage U.  It’s edited for a younger audience, so short clips, almost sound-byte quality, but its a good watch.

For your daily dose of political news, check this out:

Sad that there is such a price discrepancy!

Geek and Sundry kicked off this week with two great videos, first up a new music video from The Guild:

And the first episode of The Flog:

And lastly, I will also be back with my annual Good Friday post, but until then, enjoy this:

Another update for you, mostly videos, so let’s see what we have today:

First up, NASA captured fire tornadoes on the sun that would engulf five Earths:

The perpetual motion bulldog:

And a fun video with iPads:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53_qvMQfvOE

I don’t think I can embed this, so check out the birth of a book here.

And a bit of news, Canada is going to be taking their penny out of circulation.  The measure is expected to save about $11 million dollars.

And lastly, some very frightening news: even if the chemicals are killing you, your doctors can’t tell you about them, because it’s proprietary information.  Of course it’s about fracking.

That’s it for now, I’ll be back soon!

Let’s see what I’ve found today for you:

First up, this has been making the rounds, pretty amazing:

This just amazing.  It’s a cookbook, that is printed on lasagna noodles, so you bake it after reading it.  Pretty awesome!

From Copyranter, not at all what I expected, but I guess after reading “To Hair is Human”:

Also from Copyranter, the inevitable follow up from Etch-a-Sketch.

An interesting twist, a museum show, where the guests have to be naked (instead of the art being naked).  Head down to Australia if you want to see it.

I’m so excited to not have to drive by the way:

Microsoft has come up with a 3D desktop display, pretty cool looking.

That’s it for now, I’ll be back soon with more!

Quick update for everyone, I’ll be back real soon with more, but before I lost it, I wanted to post this awesome picture.  There is an iPhone app (and soon Android) called Zombies, Run, which tells the story after the zombie horde takes over and you, as a runner for the town of Abel, have to go out and collect supplies.

This seems like a much less motivational game:

Quick update for everyone, let’s see what I have for you today.

First up, the Harry Potter books are now available in eBook format.  The cool thing, is that for the first time, the eBooks are being sold directly from the author with the ability to push them onto Kindles and Nooks, no DRM From Amazon or Barnes and Noble.  Amazing!

Things are getting crazy with the Martin case.  Think Progress is debunking some of the myths out there, go check it out.  And while we’re on the subject (since I’m a pacifist and all), here’s an interesting bit of psychology from the Journal of experimental Psychology.

Infographics go 3D…in Grand Central.  Pretty awesome!

And lastly, I’m not sure if the video will embed below, I can’t even find the embed code, so here’s the link.  Take a minute and just enjoy the drawing

And I’m back (not on the netbook, but I’ll be back on that tomorrow most likely).  First up:

This seems unnecessary: tattoo ink that vibrates when you have a cell phone call.

We just passed the two year anniversary of Obamacare:

Slog points us to a cool view of the Sistine Chapel.  I particularly think the music is a nice addition.

MaddowBlog has this amazing bumper sticker posted:

And College Humor points us to some wonderful travel posters for the modern day.

I don’t know if the video will embed below (I’ll guess no ahead of time), but Dan Savage’s new show starts next month on MTV.  And it’s actually making me want to watch MTV again!  Check it out:

Quick update, let’s see if I can get this in before my battery dies (I forgot to charge my netbook, and since I haven’t had it on in a while, it used all the battery updating itself and all the programs).

First up, a new look at Snow White and the Huntsman (which looks so much better, and darker, than “Mirror Mirror”):

And Copyranter comes through with an awesome outdoor campaign for shampoo, and for JP Morgan Chase.  Unlike Copyranter, I really like one of the ads, I think the art direction is amazing:

That’s it for now, back when I’m recharged!

All kinds of fun things today, let’s see what all I have for you:

First up, this is amazing and scary:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zFNG-b-Vxo

Copyranter has some ads for Playboy.  Honestly, I like them, they’re witty, and of course, NSFW.

Copyranter also posts some stunning ads for musical instruments:

Very quickly, Arizona is becoming a place I would never want to go visit.  I feel as though I need to save my friends who are living there.

Hot tub boats.  Exactly what they sound like, and they sound like heaven!

And a few fun political pics from around the Internet for you:

I do try not to be too political here on the blog, but some things are too good not to pass up.

Have a good one!

I’m hoping to have another update later today, but for right now, enjoy these videos.

First up, this is an amazing, and short TED Talk:

And now, Christopher Walken reads “Where the Wild Things Are:

And two channel lineups from youtube, Geek and Sundry (from Felicia Day) and The Nerdist (from Chris Hartwick):

Another quick update for everyone, just two things once again:

First up, go and read the irony.  The sweet, sweet irony.

I tried to embed this clip, but it didn’t work, so here’s the link, make sure you watch this awesome clip from the Daily Show about political coverage.
