It’s been a while, so I have a lot of fun stuff to share, let’s get started.  First up, amazing facts about frogs:

The commissioner of the NBA slams the Olympics for their handling of the Russia LGBT laws.  And speaking of, Brian Brown, head of NOM, worked with Russia lawmakers to draft the legislation working its way through the Duma to forcibly take children from LGBT adults.

And lastly about Russia, a music video about the torture of the Russian church:

Sometimes, grandmothers play one of my favorite games, Cards Against Humanity.  Yeah, weird and creepy, and I would have given her the point for that round.

Just like you can’t open a business and refuse to serve the Irish, or women, or Jews, you can’t flat our refuse to serve the LGBT community.  Unless the Republican party gets it way, of course.

Alright, let’s see what we have today.  First up:

It  may be almost 70 degrees (and I’m in shorts in January), this is awesome:

Alright, let’s see what we have today.

First up, a really cool webpage from Starbucks that allows you to look up referendum that are going on in your state this election.  Note to those in Pa: we got nothing.

But I do have to say to the House of Pa: WTF.  No seriously.  YOU WANT NEWBORN BABIES TO STARVE.  What is wrong with you?!

This is going around, I saw it from Betty Bowers, and of course, Santorum make an appearance:

Amazing take-downs of Ann Coulter.  Although I am loath to even mention it, I hate giving her any attention.

And President Obama takes down Ayn Rand.  Very well done.

Couple update for you guys, let’s see what we have:

First up, did you know that Bradley Manning was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize?  Pretty awesome, especially the write up.

Since we finally have some snow (I’ve been singing Christmas Carols for a few days now), check out Snow Henge (via Copyranter):

Also from Copyranter, the village of Hobbiton in New Zealand is no inhabited by sheep, and the “best” ad campaigns of all time.  No real way to to judge “best,” although they are all iconic and important in their own ways.

The Ottawa library system is starting a “Human library” feature, where you can interview people of interest for 20 minute blocks.  This is an awesome idea, I really need to get a passport and head to Ottawa, this is just remarkable!

CPAC is an annual conservative conference, and sadly, one of the most hate-filled events of the year.  Speaking of, this year, they invited (and later refused to renounce) a white supremacy speaker.  Maddow covers it here and Slog covers it here.  Disgusting.

I’ve been following the birth control debate, although not as close as I probably should have.  Reproductive health coverage is a part of health coverage, and I think it should be included (and maybe we’ll get some advances in men’s reproductive health while we’re at it).  It’s about setting a basic standard of health, which the government is saying employers are saying they must provide.  That being said, I was upset that he backed down from the Catholic Church, but will still get the same result anyway, by instead putting the onus on the insurance companies, not the employers.  So I guess in the end, it worked out, I Just hate setting the precedent that one religious denomination can dictate government health coverage decisions.

Quick update here, although I’m hoping to do some more updates that will show up later this week and next.

Lots of fun movies, lets start with this one, shared by my friend Kyle:

The Hobbit films finally have release dates and titles.  I think it’s weird they’re using “There and Back Again” even though the story of the Hobbit (plus a bunch of extra stuff) is going to take two movies.  But then again, I don’t really believe that these will stay as the release dates.

This is all over the blogs this week, but prisoners overseas, instead of doing manual labor, are getting carpal tunnel farming gold which is then sold for real money.  Weird.

Rachel Maddow has a great list of parody movies about the Republican presidential field.

If you’re not, you should be very excited about the upcoming Harry Potter movie.  This will make the wait even longer:

Quick update for everyone.  First off, Randy Rainbow tries to save the Spiderman Musical:

Good news, Sir Ian McKellen will reprise his role as Gandalf in the upcoming Hobbit movies!

This might be the coolest idea for a soap dispenser ever:

I like that it not only saves you money and is better for the earth (no plastic containers for liquid soap that is mostly water anyway), the soap will throw off it’s scent into the air, doing double duty!

I think I’ve always known it, but music, does in fact, make you happy.  And now it’s been proven!
