Today's Mighty Oak

Alright, let’s see what we have. I’m going through a lot of news, and also quite an old back-log of stuff that I’ve e-mailed to myself over the years, so I’ll be adding in some older articles I think are worth taking a look at over the next week or so. But, first up, Randy Rainbow reminds us to stay at home and social distance!

The title of this piece makes me laugh, so hard. And the penguins are cute!

A lot of my races are cancelled and postponed, but Dumb Runner helps me keep it all in perspective. Until we’re back at it, I”m just running a lot of loops in my neighborhood!

Here’s a first look at the new Avengers Campus theme park being built:

Okay, the title of the penguin article above makes me laugh, but so does this: violinists playing in the toilet paper article like the Titanic going down.

This has been the talk of all my friends recently, but it was found out why Triscuits are call that, and no, it’s not what you think, it’s so much better!

And finally for today, a look at You Suck at Cooking’s best time-saving hacks:

Have a great one!

Bigger update for everyone, hope you enjoy.

First up, please don’t die:

A really good ad, it even made copyranter tear up a bit:

Check out the Earthscraper, an underground skyscraper.  On a related note, I’ve been playing SimTower, I forgot how much I love that game!

In case you didn’t see it before, Joey quits:

This comes from Hazeltown, Pa.  People disgust me.  And why did the editors think this was okay to run?

Apparently, there is a correlation (not a cause) between the number of Facebook friends you have and the size of parts of your brain.  Strange.

Amazing video for cover-up, featuring zombie-boy from the Born This Way video:

Here’s the “list of demands” for the Zelda Symphony Orchestra concerts, it’s funny.

Just a quick comparison for you:

And check out the Brewed on Grant response to Occupy Pittsburgh, it’s fantastic.

Do you knit?  Penguins need your help!

Need a hat?  And a beard?  Check it out:

A couple more things coming later, have a great one!

Quick update for everyone.  First up, enjoy this awesome orchestrated version of the Mega Man 2 theme:

Clintus posted this to his blog, and it’s strangely profound:

Did you know that Herman Cain is running to be the president of Sim City?  Maxis’ response is priceless, although I wish they would have added “reticulating splines”:

We encourage politicians to continue to look to innovative games like SimCity for inspiration for social and economic change,” said Katsarelis. “While we at Maxis and Electronic Arts do not endorse any political candidates or their platforms, it’s interesting to see GOP candidate Herman Cain propose a simplified tax system like one we designed for the video game SimCity 4.”

Adopting such a simple tax structure, Katsarelis said, would allow fantasy political leaders to focus their energy on infrastructure and national security. “Our game design team thought that an easy to understand taxation system would allow players to focus on building their cities and have fun thwarting giant lizard attacks, rather than be buried by overly complex financial systems.”

Here’s the actual trailer for the Muppets Movie:

The comments with this Occupy Madison Avenue flyer are awesome.  Seriously, who still uses Lotus notes, and no I will not make the logo bigger.

And here’s a great video from Occupy Seattle:

I kind of want to make this cable manager, it’s an AT-AT from Star Wars!

Once again, Benstonium hits it out of the park (I know wrong sport metaphor):

I just got back from my first trip to the Consol Energy Center, watching the Baby Pens play the Hershey Bears (who happen to be the Capital’s feeder team, hence the match-up in the lead in to the Winter Classic).

Check out my pictures below, and they are in the gallery as well.

All kinds of fun things going on, so let me geek out for just a bit here.

Season three of The Guild premiered today:

I’ve never been a huge fan of Twitter, although I can concede that it has its uses.  However, I do like the idea behind Woofer.  Where your messages have a 1,400 character minimum.  Hehehe.

What do you do if you want to buy a video game (which is smashing all kinds of sales records), but the creator/writer is a bigot?  Well, you talk about it, then decide if that $20 will really make a difference.  Make sure to read the comments too, a good discussion of free speech and how it pertains was going on.

Construction has begun on The Shard, a new skyscraper in London:

It is an artists rendering, so it should, but it just reminds me of some sort of concept art for some huge budget movie.

And now that September is finally upon us, that means….it’s almost time for Hockey season again!  Oh yeah, and football.  Either way, check out this fairly good (if not overly-dramatic) movie.

That’s it for now, catch everyone later!
