Today's Mighty Oak

Alright, let’s see what we have today. First up, here’s your reminder that the Republicans are about to once again care about the national debt, and that 45 added over 8 Trillion to it (but they won’t care about that fact, it’s all hypocrisy).

On a much happier note, it’s the 35th anniversary of the movie Clue! Celebrate with these 10 quotes (and if you’ve seen it, yes, you know what is number one!).

Here’s the trailer for The Watch, the BBC show based on the City Watch books of the Discworld series:

Hey look, it only took a global pandemic, but I may be able to donate blood in a year or two!

I got sucked in and loved watching Bridgerton, and it really does live up to it’s reputation as ‘horny Downton Abbey’:

More savagrey from the administration, and look for more of this tactic, especially from the states, in the future: using “religious liberty” as an acceptable way to discriminate.

And finally, the latest WandaVision trailer looks bonkers and wild and I cannot wait:

Alright, let’s see what we have today. First up, we have the first look at the Mr. Rogers movie staring Tom Hanks.

Pete Buttigieg took over P-Town and it was Pete-Town for a weekend!

Pictures from World Pride in NYC to celebrate Stonewall 50.

Meeting the new president of the HRC:

In other Pride news, Gritty (who, even though I am a die-hard Pens fan, is still the best thing that we didn’t know we needed), did a great job at Philly Pride (and check out him waving the Philadelphia Pride flag)!

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (drag nuns who do street-level ministry to the queer community), were present at a commemoration ceremony of the queer lives lost in the Holocaust.

(Pennsylvania) Republicans are a disgrace, part I: screaming over the reading of a letter of a former homeless man because they want to slash the General Assistance Program.

(Pennsylvania) Republicans are a disgrace, part II: Congressman says he’s a person of color because he’s white.

And finally, as a palate cleanser, watch some T-Rexs run a race!

Alright, let’s see what we have today.

First up, the music video made from all stock footage:

If you haven’t seen it yet, the saddest map in America: by state, how most people post in Craiglist’s missed connections.

I’ve mentioned it before, but just a reminder, the Republicans are only okay with the Violence Against Women Act if it specifically doesn’t protect the LGBT community.

And in Texas, lawmakers want to take away funding from schools that support their LGBT staff and students.

So, I love the original song, but when Gollum sings it, it just adds a certain…something:

Some fun Scrabble ads:

Mantone, the men’s color schemes.

And the Oxford comma discussion continues.  By the way, I usually go by AP Standards.

Meet a new friend in a ball pit:

Bill Nye tells it like it is.

I talked about it before, but the AP has finally come to its senses and is using the accurate terms ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ for all married couples.

And the human jukeboxes:

Rob lays it out.  Remember, if you exercise free speech for your faith (and the haters agree with you), it’s okay.  But use that same free speech to disagree, and you’re satanic.

Fun posters of the lies we tell ourselves and others each day:

As much as I think a celebrity Survivor would be awful, if NPH was on, that would totally be worth it to watch!

So….Mississippi just got around to ratifying the 13th amendment, you know, the one that outlaws slavery.  Awkward.

And no, I would not let this man cut my hair, but it is impressive:

That’s it for now, have a great one!

Alright, let’s see what we have today.  First up, this is clever:

The woman who ruined a priceless fresco of Jesus, has a lawyer and wants money now that her creation is on display.

Want a sneak peak of the sequel to Angry Birds, Bad Piggies?  Click here for the details.

I’m really excited for this movie, and love the poster:

The Good Men Project has a great, heartwarming story about a bus driver, go read it and restore some of your faith in humanity!

I can’t embed it, but check out this cool video of an art project involving swings!

Need some recopies for beer milkshakes?  Man Made DIY has you covered.

So, Senate Republicans rejected a bill that would provide jobs for Veterans.  I don’t understand how anyone could be so awful.

That’s it for now, but I’ll be back with more soon, have a great one!
