Today's Mighty Oak

“Kindly let me help you or you will drown,” said the monkey putting the fish safely up in a tree.

Alright, let’s see what we have today, check out this amazing LEGO clue set!

A new study shows yet again, there is no correlation between violence and video games.

Surviving the World has a great theory about holiday creep:

You can get your child’s crayon creation (or yours) made into a real plush toy!

The midterm elections weren’t great (except for Wolf beating Corbett), but there’s a lot of hope for 2016.

Game of Thrones character pixel art, which looks like they would fit in perfectly in a 90’s LucasArts game.

Amazing “historical” portraits…of superheros (and villians).

Quite possibly the best swing ever:

Check out the video for the final credit song for the Hobbit, sung by Pippen himself.

A great article about the Duggars, worth a read.

Tony Hawk takes to the new Hendo hoverboard:

A cool site I stumbled upon called Storm the Castle, with all kinds of fun science and nerdy projects!

A reminder, the very existence of marriage equality is not persecution of people who oppose it.  Especially when you’re not forced to perform any, and can even turn gay people away from your business without any legal repercussions.  And yeah, in the end, civility, equality and even the power of capitalism will bring you around.

A designer is working on a typeface to specifically help people with dyslexia read easier.

Jimmy Kimmel takes on Sesame Street with his weekly look at “unnecessary censorship:”

The FDA is considering changing the gay blood ban, but it’s still a ridiculous policy they’re looking at.

And FIFA, the wonderfully corrupt and useless organization, is in trouble coming up to the 2022 Qatar World Cup: they want to ‘regulate’ homosexuality like alcohol, so only allowed in certain hotels and visitors must show passports for entry.  So many, many things wrong.

Sometimes, I really love Anonymous, like when they take down hate group websites. They’re also doing some great work digging up all the white-supremacy ties that Ferguson PD has, which is really, really scary.

These things happen regularly, sadly: ‘Christian’ homeless shelter turns away a gay couple.

And just absolutely revolting, a ‘Christian’ woman interrupts the first-ever Muslim prayer service at the National Cathedral.

Watch this.  Seriously, John Oliver’s salmon cannon is new my favorite thing:

That’s it for now, but I’ll be back soon with more!
