To anyone who has seen the actual Star Wars Christmas Special, this is what we were looking for:
You know it’s the end of the year when all these start popping up. Here’s one I look forward to all the time:
I’m trying to figure out some site issues. I updated to the latest version of Joomla, and things got messed up. I’ll keep you posted, for now though, a bunch of old posts are popping up as recent, so nothing major, but an inconvenience.
Update: I feel all excited now, I made a backup before updating the site (like I’m supposed to, and like I always do), so I tried restoring it. This was a first for me, but it seems to have worked! So between the server outage, which seems to be over, and a crazy update from Joomla, it’s been a crazy week here at the site. I do apologize, but we should be good now!
Couple things to talk about. First up, what happens to you online after you die (in real life). Well, it takes a little bit of preplanning. But Lifehacker has you covered.
Philly takes the wrong side in social media, trying to tax bloggers, including taxing some more than they made from blogging. Also, people get paid to blog?! I jest, I jest. I do it for the sport of it all!
And Sullivan picks up this story:
The Internet is the real revolution, as important as electricity; what we do with it is still evolving. As it moved from your desktop to your pocket, the nature of the Net changed.
Those first clause is powerful, and true. The Internet is still changing, and more importantly, changing us.
And in response to the second block quote that Sullivan pulled out: ThinkGeek has shirts that detect WiFi, are instruments and can do all kinds of things, so we’re pretty much in the future right now!
Strange things are afoot, I can’t get the second half of my blog post to update, I’ll be working on it more tonight and tomorrow, so stay tuned!
Update: Bug squashed! Have no idea why it wasn’t working, but an image was breaking everything. Now we’re good!
Let’s give this a second try…(first time did not save and I lost everything). Hey everybody! Lots of fun links to pass on, and I’ll be updating The Great and Secret Show as well, so stay tuned for more later this weekend as well.
I’ve found a lot of old links (from a few months ago), so I’ll only be posting the relevant ones, hope you enjoy:
Sometimes life is funny. And ironic.
I really hope the city decided to leave the chalk drawings:
I was in a conversation with a friend talking about the different names for groups of animals. The obvious winner is a sedge of cranes.
Ever feel alone? You got nothing on this guy!
Pittsburgh Sports and Mini Ponies is about exactly what you think, or at least their banner is. The site is on Bloquin, so good luck trying to get it to display correctly or have a working RSS feed though.
I hate the Wesboro Baptist Church as much as anyone. But I love that they tried to take on the San Diego Comic Con and lost, so bad (and this doesn’t even show the parade the attendees put on as a counter protest). Strong language and logic that will make your head explode about eight times:
Here is a cool chart showing different aspects on covers of fantasy book. I can’t embed it here, for some reason it breaks Joomla. Sorry!
And really, at this point, you’re just showing off:
Okay, that’s it for this one, shorter update, but more to come soon!
I just found the second trailer for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, so excited:
