So…Santorum is crazy.  For a while, he was campaigning on a platform of outlawing porn.  I was talking with a friend this week, a speaker brought into her work place was also known for going on tirades about pornography.  And we all agree, it’s a case of “He who doth protest too much…”  But anyway, in response, porn stars (ahem, hard, ahem, working Americans who would be put out of work) came together to make a video in protest:

Did you know that Herman Cain is running to be the president of Sim City?  Maxis’ response is priceless, although I wish they would have added “reticulating splines”:

We encourage politicians to continue to look to innovative games like SimCity for inspiration for social and economic change,” said Katsarelis. “While we at Maxis and Electronic Arts do not endorse any political candidates or their platforms, it’s interesting to see GOP candidate Herman Cain propose a simplified tax system like one we designed for the video game SimCity 4.”

Adopting such a simple tax structure, Katsarelis said, would allow fantasy political leaders to focus their energy on infrastructure and national security. “Our game design team thought that an easy to understand taxation system would allow players to focus on building their cities and have fun thwarting giant lizard attacks, rather than be buried by overly complex financial systems.”

Alright, a more media heavy update today, but some cool stuff to pass along.

First up, this video was filmed backwards.  You’ll understand when you see it, and it’s pretty cool:

Faith finally finished her article about Women in Scouting, specifically at Scout camp.  Check it out here.

It looks as though Slate’s year end Gaming Club has finished up, although I kind of remember them coming to the same conclusion last year.  Still a great series, even if they don’t talk about some of the games I think they should have.

Even more than the previous link, this makes me so incredibly happy.  The rest of the world must really think the U.S. is bat-shit crazy.  Honestly, if I was not living here, I would just be laughing at how stupid this congressman is.  Not only for doing what he did, but also for having the balls to go the conference, try to pull together a press conference even when our government is in the building behind him trying to work with other counties from around the world.  Good frickin’ grief.
